X51/WM5 BT Situation

Ok, correct me if I am wrong, but my current understanding of the X51/WM5 situation is this:
  • the current microsoft stack has limited profiles
  • dell has been slow to update the axims with more profiles
  • BUT, I have heard that they are waiting on M$ for the new stack to integrate into the OS
  • 3rd party profiles can be added (with limited success) to add a2dp functionality and BT Keyboards

My question is: I just want to be able to chat between my axim (WM5), and my fathers Ipaq hx4700 (PPC2003SE). Is there any way to connect with WM5's crippled stack? Most all of the programs I have tried (buZZone, ProximityMail, etc.) Cannot find a BT Stack, and do not work right. Is there a way to make this work, or is there another program that works with the current stack, and it compatible with WM5???

Any comments would be much appreciated. I finally am able to understand this (after hours of researching BT)...

Thank you,
Protochu

BT keyboards work flawlessly in WM5, at least my experience with them. There is no a2dp functionality for wm5 however, not with limited success, with NO! success.

I understand that the BT Keyboards work. But am I corrent to assume that people have gotten the Broadcom Profiles to work with A2DP Support? I want to buy a bluetooth headset, but I am not going to do that until I know there is a way to do it.

Not with the X51. There has been no A2DP profile ever on any X51. Now, that being said the headset profile was supposed to be included already, but apparentley some reg keys went missing. AKU 2. is supposed to add A2DP and the Headset profile back. So we don't know yet.

Patience is the key.

Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn't seem to care that we have been patiently waiting for.... how long now?

Not entirley true.(although mostly)

MSFT released AKU 2.0 to OEMs a while back, so now we just wait for Dell to delete profiles for us.

AKU 2.0 supports A2DP
