Sprint Phone with PAM Service

I am seeing lots of GPRS information, which I used when I had Cingular as a provider, but I just purchased a Sprint phone tonight with Phone as Modem (PAM) as an option. I can't seem to get a straight answer to what I should be using as a username, a phone number, or a password. Most annoying of all this, these conflicting answers are coming from a Sprint kiosk, a Sprint corporate store, and there call-in assistance. None of them seem to understand my issue. I am paired to the phone. I have (and have verified) the Phone As Modem plan. What # should I dial. What is the username and what is the password?

Like you, I just got a Samsung A920 with the $40/month unlimited "Phone as a Modem" EV-DO tethering option.

To find out your username and password, sign onto http://sprintpcs.com. On the left column, click on "My Personal Information". This expands a submenu with "Power Vision Username" and "Power Vision Password". Click on those. If you don't have either, you can create them.

The number you dial is #777. For more details, see:
SprintUsers.com - Using phone as a modem

Hope this helps :).

Actually it was going to that page that caused my problems. There is a bug in the system where if you change your username/password the update does not get sent to your phone correctly. It caused my phone to be unable to use internet itself or tethered.

After spending over 5 hours in the local corporate store they were finally able to force the update down to my phone. The settings I had in there were correct so I paired withotu a problem.

I have to say I love this phone and I love the data plan. We have two a920's both with PAM, 2200 anytime minutes, free nights and weekend that start at 6pm. It's an awesone plan! We got all that for $158 total (includes both phones) after tax. That is so much cheaper than what I was paying Verizon. I love it!

Thanks for the help. My biggest problem now is my first bill. I'm supposed to have a $150 month bill and got a $450 surprise in the mail. I realize that the first bill is always a little bit higher because of being charged one month ahead; however, I don't believe it should be three times as high. I am not liking Sprint and am starting to wish I'd stayed with Verizon. After having spent 5+ hours on the phone with their cutomer service and 6+ hours in their corporate store just to get PAM working, I don't want to think how long I'll be holding/waiting while they straighten this one out.
