Verizon Mobile Phone compatibility

Greetings all, New to the Axim (received my X51v as a Christmas gift this past year). Currently a VZW customer. Looking for recommendations on "Tap to Dial" BT compatible phones. Wondered who out there uses this and if any had recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

right now i dont think any of them will do it. VZW cripples there phones bluetooth pretty good. i would suggest a motorola like the e815. at least then you can hack it to enable full bluetooth. the only thing i am unsure of is if the x51v supports that bluetooth profile. as i do not have a bluetooth cellphone.

VZW does cripple all BT phones, espically now with the famous "red UI". I don't think the X51 has the profile for "Tap and Dial"

VZW phones and Bluetooth

You have two choices. 1st is to use any of the Verizon Bluetooth phones with your Axim to dial up an ISP and make connection.
2nd (for $59 bucks a month) you can use a Bluetooth phone like the LG9800 or LG8100 or Motorola 815 (and more I am sure), to connect at Broadband speed unlimited access. The first method uses your airtime minutes (free on nights and weekends) and is not nearly as fast as the broadband access. Both work great and I have been using both Dialup and the high speed broadband with no problem. Verizon says the high speed only works via USB to laptop or PC but it also works by Bluetooth. They just don't tell you how or the access number, which is #777.
