Is it just me? Or does terminal services for ppc stink!
I really want to use remote desktop on PPC. VNC is too slow to deal with, Logmein is good but takes waaay to long to log in. Terminal services works quite well, but the client for ppc sucks! It keeps changing the resolution to too small and the colour to the lowest possible setting. Is there a way to fix this? Or does microsoft just want me to have the worst experience possible.
What OS are your connecting to? I'm running it on Server 2003 systems and I have no issue with the screen resolution on the server. Remember this is a Terminal Services client designed to communicate with a server class OS, not with the crippled TSClient (that is) Remote Desktop on Windows XP. Remote Desktop does not create a Terminal Session the same way that server does...

Oh, I'm connecting to windows XP professional. I can connect fine with mac, which I had to modify some settings on. When I first connected with the mac it looked the same as it looked on the pocket pc, but I was able to change some settings to make it look right.
Yea, unfortunately with XP, you will need to adjust the desktop resolution when you get done with Terminal Services. Unfortunately it doesn't use a sepearte profit for the remote connection...

RDP via built in client works good, has NEVER disconnected me and its fast if its on the same network (over the internet is a diffrent story since it depends on the internet connection), it just hard to navigate on 320x240 when my desktop resolution is at 2048x1536

You can user a domain name or an ip address for the server field.
You can use a non static address if you use free services like Dynamic DNS which requires you to install software on your computer to give their server an updated IP address whenever your ISP changes it.
You can run whatever the heck you want with terminal services because it is running on the server machine not the client. It just sends input and screen refresh commands.
If you have windows XP pro you have a 1 client terminal server (its called remote desktop client now) and it will kick off whoever is on it. Windows Servers have multiple client licenses. You may also be able to run VNC client like tight vnc etc fro free on your machine.
