Wireless disconnected

Whenever I plug my X51v onto my laptop (through USB on cradle), the wireless connection will be disconnected. What's wrong?

My set up:
Laptop: Thinkpad T43
Router: Linksys WRT54G
Security: WPA

This is a noted problem. This is evidently part of M$ approach to security.Search is your friend. There are several threads about this and I think there is a workaround. This is one of the reasons my wm5 upgrade is still shrinkwrapped and functioning as a coaster instead of an operating system. Good Luck and to aximsite.

I have read all posts under this section but no idea of what. Seems people are having problem in connection with the handheld, but my problem is connection of my laptop. May I know what keyword should I use to search posts?

Thanks a million!!!!

Hi pp99,

I have exactly the same problem, and I've searched meticulously and can't seem to find anything related. I'll keep looking and if I find something I'll post it back here. Please do the same if you come up with a solution.

I suspect it lies in the way Windows XP manages network connections, but exactly what, I'm not sure yet.

Regards,

Steve.

It does not matter if it is a laptop or pc, it has to do with MS deactivating wifi because they felt some enterprise customers thought this was a security risk. Search for Airfix and see if that helps. (http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...ghlight=airfix)

I downloaded airfix, and it worked the first time, but it worked once, but then it went back to scaning network.

I am trying to debug Mobil mate worldmate it won't allow me to update airlines without being sync via USB to lapetop.

When the Axim is docked, ActiveSync 4.x:

• Uses TCP/IP to communicate via a generic NDIS driver.
• Assigns 169.254.2.1 as your Ax's IP (client).
• Assigns 169.254.2.2 as your PC's IP (host).

Here's one of the post mentioned.

It is not a problem. It is a design concept. Please search MSDN or MS KB for more details on security vulnerability w/ respect to AS4.x.
