D-Link plus x51v equals dropouts. :-(

I have a D-Link DWL-G730AP portable access point. I can connect fine. I'm running an open system and broadcasting the ssid. Every few minutes, even with good signal strength, it drops out and then reconnects! This is my second access point from D-link with the same problem. All laptops seem to work fine with no dropout issues. Anyone have any ideas??????

TIA,

Richard

I have a D-link router (614 I think), laptop connects and stays connected just fine, Axim will only connect off and on, some days yes, some days no.... nothing I do works. Somehow I think its the Axim not the router since the laptop is ok.

It sounds like you still have Power save enabled in the WLAN on the Axim. Try turning it off.

You can also try using the Odyssey client. I find that it connects quicker and is more stable than the Dell WLAN at home.

I have turned off the power saver, no change. I hate to think about using Odyssey, but I might have to. :-(

Have you checked for a firmware upgrade for the router?
