I have an AT&T plan, and whenever I talk with anyone from Cingular, they look over my plan and say it can't be beat with any Cingular plan! So, I've stayed with my "Cingular / former AT&T" plan and designation.
I had a Motorola V600 with AT&T SW on it.
I got terrible reception at home, and in many other places.
So, I tried a Sony Ericsson unlocked phone for my wife ===> great reception.
After posting and reading at HowardForums, I figured the V600 had tower switching restrictions such that if it could perceive the slightest AT&T signal it would not change! -At home we now connect to a Cingular tower, and have 5 bars on all the phones!
I guess if I got the V600 SW changed to something generic it would work great too.
So, I got myself a Nokia for me and my mom (we have a three phone shared minutes plan).
I like my plan, and found it is great with phones that can go onto other towers.
I don't know exactly how we will be treated by the new AT&T cell unit, but I hope I can keep the plan I have.
