I'm using an Axim 51v and a lynksys wireless router. (I'm a rookie at both.) I've had the 51v for two days now and managed to get connected, but not to my router. When I pull down the list of available networks I see that I have about 10 neighbors with systems blasting. My 51v is stuck on some open system and I can't figure out how to change it to my system using WPA. I'd like to eventually hide my SSid and use MAC addresses, but I'm gun shy since I can't even connect to my network with it visible.
After selecting to connect to your network in the list in the settings as benots4 suggests (with WiFi active, go Start, Settings, Connections (tab), Network Cards), you should also hold the stylus on the network(s) you have incorrectly connected to and select Remove settings.
The X51 will then preferentially connect to your network as long as it is available and will ask if you want to connect to others it finds when yours is not available. If these other networks happen to be in your neighborhood, you should always tell it to not connect to these or it may ignore yours for the others like it is doing now.

I didn't get a chance to read your postings last night and I'm at work now, so I'll give this a try when I get home. Thanks. Your advice seem promissing.
Hi
After I go to Network cards, a menu comes, which device should I select to connect? it has several ones, I selected the internal wireless one, am I right? I am at work and I decided to delete my home connection and its settings to start all over again ( My AXIM detects my wireless connection but I can not connect at all with the internet, although I have followed the steps ( I am not an expert though) and I feel kind of fustrated, I love my AXIM, but haven't been able to go with its full potential

You are getting the list of adapters because your wireless is not active (that's why I specified with WiFi active in my original post).
I don't think the advice in this thread is going to help you since yours seems to be a different issue (MarkETLvegan is connecting, just not to his own network). I would guess your problem is with settings on the router. Make sure if it's a G router that it is operating in mixed (B+G) or B-only mode and if it is 'enanced G that the enhanced feature is disabled. If you are using security, try disabling it. Check for an updated firmware for the router.
