Question Netgear MA701

I have a 4 port Netgear Wireless Router with 2 pc's hooked up to it without a problem. I bought a Netgear MA701 SD card for my Axim. I set up the config to match my SSID and I used 128 encryption (I checked the entry several times). I set up the access list to only allow my pc's and Axim, which the router was able to find the Axim. I am not able to see the Axim as an attached device on my router after all the configs are put into place. My Axim can see the router if I configure the router to allow broadcast of my SSID and access from any user (which I do not want to do). I'm sure i'm missing something but right now i'm really sleepy and it's not coming to me ....
Any suggestions?

Do you have MAC address filtering on? I had that earlier today. Really easy to fix.

the netgears have an issue with getting a dynamic ip address from the router.

according to netgear support:

The ma701 (CF card) is in need of a driver update.. but no ETA

so.. your choices are:

1) set a static IP address for your axim
2) replace the netgear with another unit ( i switched to linksys)
3) dump the netgear drivers and use the Prism Intersil drivers and the Winc program

The linksys gives me more options then the netgear (though not as compact)

Static IP prevens me from roaming with my axim.. although I have yet to link to other wlans

and the winc program w/ intersil is a better combo then the netgear drivers...and allow you to double tap a ssid and your axim will connect to it. But.. you lose the netgear power saving ability... so your bat life is lower.

Life is a compromise.

I figured out what was wrong...
1) I assigned my axim with an IP (192.168.0.4), I should have allowed my router to do it for some reason. I assigned my other pc's with ip's...go figure
2) This is strange, my router shows my Axim as an attached device by it's MAC address but does not show my name and my Axim does not show my connected to any access points but I am still able to connect to the internet...Oh well, it's works why argue?
