So I'm trying to connect my PPC and PC with wi-fi...
And it's not working. I can't get the two to see eachother directly(without the need of a wireless modem), no matter what I do. I tried the tutorial on setting up a wi-fi PAN, but it simply will not work.
Any ideas?

Does the PC have a G WiFi card? If so, make sure it is set to allow a B connection.
Set both devices to ad-hoc mode and enter a name (SSID) for the network on one of them.
Some people have said they need to have WiFi activated on the Axim before turning it on on the PC (in other works, the PC has an easier time finding the Axim than the other way 'round).
If you actually want to use the PC's web connection, you should enable ICS on the side actually connected to the Internet. If not, you may want to enter static IPs. The 192.168.0.xxx set is typical. Make the last number on each device different. The subnet is 255.255.255.0 and the Gateway is typically set to the PC's IP.

Woo, that did the job. The only problem is I had to turn offthe axim's wireless then turn it on to get it to work.
Would you know if things will be easier next time or not?

I'm glad it's working but I have never used this setup so I don't know what you can expect.

I am sorry that I am posting my question there, but I just didn't want to create a new topic with almost the same post name;)
Ok, for example, I have WiFi USB adapter (I am going to buy DWL-G122) and the Internet is connected via LAN cable. I would like to share LAN connection with my X51V, so the adapter should work as a router or sth like that. Is that possible?

What is the LAN cable currently connected to the PC plugged into at the other end (a DSL or cable modem or a router/hub)?
You'd most likely be better off getting a WiFi router and plugging that cable into the router (or replacing a current Ethernet router with the WiFi one). Using a WiFi adapter on a PC already connected to a network requires a much more convoluted setup than a WiFi router.

Well, LAN cable comes from my internet provider.
I wouldn't like to connect it directly to WiFi router.
My laptop doensn't have WiFi, so I would like to buy only one USB WiFi adapter that would allow me to share the internet with PPC when I am at home and when I am with Laptop - have a possibility to connect to freespot with it.

In theory it would allow you to share the laptop's web connection but it's a more complex setup and many people never get it to work.
I've mentioned on the site before that I tried setting this up just for testing so I could help people troubleshoot. I had two laptops, each running WinXP. I used the same wireless adapter in both with the same drivers. I set up ICS in the same way on both. On one PC, it took me about 15 minutes before I had web access (for Internet, email and I was able to access files on the PC). With the other, I spent several days troubleshooting and never got it to work.
