I Sync my x51v and my wireless network stops
When i sync my x51v with the USB cable (active sync 4.1 and 4.2beta) my router hangs (belkin F5D7230-4) I don't now why and I have to hardware reset my belkin router.
Does anyone have the same problem and who solved the problem or knows a solution?

When I sync my x51v it disconnects from the router after it is unplugged from its sync cable but the router is fine.

What do you Think?
Do you guys think that maybe the software cannot do both at once....router hook-up plus cradle sync. I wonder myself about that....I do not know for sure....just wondering.:) :)

When it is connected to the cradle you connect to the net through your computer but after you remove it from the cradle it does not connect back to the wireless router automatically. Maybe it is the same for you koos_the_man.

I posted the following yesterday in another thread. It may apply for you guys, too (from Chris De Herrera's ActiveSync 4.x Troubleshooting Guide - General):

If you are using 802.11b or 802.11g with WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) encryption on your PC, you may be able to sync your device with your PC however 802.11g connection may be disconnected. Other users have been able to reconnect after rebooting their PC without their device connected. A workaround would be to use WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and MAC address filtering in lieu of WPA. In some cases upgrading the 802.11g card driver resolves the problem. This is known to work with Intel's 2200BG driver and Intel PROSet/Wireless version 9.x or 10.x including 10.1.0.3.

I have exactly the same problem. The whole WIFI net goes down when I sync my X51v with a laptop using USB. Even a 2nd laptop loses its WIFI connection. I have a Belkin Wireless G router. Have not worked out what is going on yet

Wifi on the Axim has to be off for the x51v to sync to a desk top. My x51v pops up a message when I tap on the sync button telling me to make sure wifi is off before continuing with the sync.

I did a little testing and worked out that the WIFI Network Secutity is some how involved.
I had my WIFI router set to WPA encryption and the WIFI network would go down as soon as I ActiveSynced my X51v with a laptop over USB.
The X51v, AS laptop and a 3rd laptop would all lose their WIFI connections!!
I tuned off network security at the WIFI router and everything was fine.
I went to 64b WEP and still OK. I am now on 128 b WEP but I have not Synced yet so well see.

Read my post immedately above your earlier post - that's exactly what the quote I made from De Herrera's Guide says.

I have a IBM laptop with a intel 2200BG and installed the newest intel drivers, but did'nt get the router working with this driver in WPA mode. WEb 128bits worked indeed. Because the ibm will be replaced next moth with a dell. I use wep until that time.

hi, I just got an x51v 2 days ago and noticed the same problems...
i have disabled WPA (no security at all) and both devices work after sync. Is there another way around it, I can't get WEP to work on my wireless network.
