I dont use a router so if you are this probably
wont help...
My setup is as follows
Cable internet connected
to my main pc,
In my main pc i have 2 ethernet
cards one for my wirenetwork and
one for my cable modem, I also
have a USB Wireless card on my
main pc, which is how my axim
connects to it,
I have windows XP on all pcs,
except the axim...
My axim and PC communicate wirelessly
through peer to peer (adhoc) mode..
rather then using a router...
My PC has its internet connection shared,
my axim can acces the internet, and files
on the main pc and sync (took me forever
to figure out how to sync em with out connecting
as guest every time..)
Anyway,.. thats just my setup, and it does
work, so if that helps at all then great,
if not well... i just wasted a minute of your time :-)

Under Settings, Connections, Connections, try making your settings Work Setting, Work Settings, Work - then do a soft reset.

Since there are so many of these threads, I figured I just tack on the end of this one with my question:
I'm running an ad-hoc wifi network with a laptop. I can get on the internet... but I can't download my email. The "Connect" button in "Inbox" is grayed out. I can't seem to find any help for this. Please help!
Did you actually set up your email service on the Axim or are you working through the ActiveSync choice? If you've set up the service, is all the info correct? (You can create the account in the Inbox using Tools, Options, New. If you need to check the settings, also go to Tools, Options and double tap on the service name from the list).

Thanks for the reply. I tried the google IP number you suggested with the following results:
"The page you are looking for cannot be found."
If I'm connected with the USB cable to my desktop computer, I can get to the google site, or any other site through the Ax. When I disconnect the cable I'm dead.
I assume you are using DHCP. Are you sure your Axim is getting an IP number? There's a free utility, vxUtils that may help you diagnose these settings.

That was my problem. I didn't realize you had to setup a service like that. Thanks.

I am new to the Ax and I am going to get a Linksys Wireless Router/4-Port Switch and a Linksys WCF12 card for the Ax. Seems like many folks are running this combination together but they also seem to have problems initially. I really would rather follow some instructions from one of you kind folks rather than suffer through a long series of trial and error steps.
