locating.......

i can connect to my home wireless network fine with my x51v, but when i try to load any web page under IE, it stays stuck on locating for what seems like forever until (if it doen't time out) it goes to connecting which also seems to take forever. my old x50v worked much quicker running 2003se. is this a particular quirk of the 51 series and WM5 or is there some setting i need to tweak? thanks in advance.....

Disable PowerSave in the WLAN utility.

I get this problem too. I can see my work's wireless network and am connected to it, but I can't connect to the VPN. I don't even get the option to try to connect to it in the balloon that comes up from clicking on the antenna picture. I can 'ping' the IP address of the VPN server, but that's it.

Hi,
I have a similar problem. Have you had any success and if so what was the trick?

In my case, I get the connected sign(the antennae sign on the top right) but the bar chart sign on the bottom right does not turn green. When the odyssey client is on, it is black in colour indicating authentication is not in use. When I try any web page in internet explorer, it searches for it for a few seconds and gives a message that page cannot be found check name and try again.

Any tips will be grately appreciated. If only some one would pay me for the hours I spent on understanding this user friendly stuff(felt like throwing the PDA out of the window)

Regards,

Kishore.

Any luck, yet?

I have static IPs on all my machines on my home wireless network. So, I had to set the IP on my Cingular 8125. All looks fine, connected and associated with the network. But, as ya'll have experienced, when I go to access a webpage the browser stalls on "locating..." and then "The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again."

I have successfully connected to other networks where the IP is assigned by the router, but I need static IPs on my home network (for business reasons).

Anyway, would love a solution.

Make sure the proxy field is empty on the connections settings page
