Assuming you are on a broadband connection (DSL or cable), I think any of the 'name brand' broadband routers (Netegar, D-link, Linksys, Belkin, Siemens) will be fine. Depending on your home setup, you may want to consider a combination, WiFi/ethernet router which will provide a faster connection to your PC and the WiFi access for the Axim and other mobile equipment. I actually read through
Practically Networked's site to get reviews on this equipment. As for CF cards, I keep referring people to the Socket low power card as having the best specs and Ambicom being one of the best values (even though I have neither of these cards). There are two or two threads on the "best cards,”
CF cards 1 and
CF cards 2 and if you want to compare specs on various brands, look
here.
For home use, stick to 802.11b. I'm not sure there even are CF cards that will operate in the a range and IMO, the extra cost of this equipment won't provide much benefit for use with the Axim, anyway.

- can I use the pocket pc IE to access secure sites (128bit encryption)
|
I've never been able to access my bank nor a couple of brokerage houses I do business with and other people say they've failed with some common financial sites. I've tried with Pocket IE and NetFront browser without success.

I'm afraid I cannot help with this. Hopefully, someone else can respond to your second post about these.
