A2DP (A12 rom) vs Broadcom for X51v

Hi all.

On the strength of the A12 upgrade, I purchased a pair of wireless stereo headphones (Motorola HT820)

The stereo profile was offered and they paired fine. The functionality also worked fine, as I was able to jump tracks and pause play. (I use Pocketmusic)

The problem was that the quality of the stereo was not that great, and volume was poor.

So I decided to install the Broadcom drivers (latest version 1.7.1) and the improvement in quality and volume was significant. In fact the difference in quality between wired and wireless is very hard to detect.

However I no longer have the ability to remotely pause or skip tracks.

Is this a known limitation or have I screwed something up?

Namaste

I think it is a known limitation. If you search very carefully, you may find that some have gotten to the functions to work with Windows Media. I don't use WMP so I don't know for sure. It may also depend of the combination of headphones, the pda and the stack.

The Widcomm stack doesn't support the AVRCP profile (audio/video remote control) that the headphones use for skipping tracks, pause, volume control, etc. Maybe in time it will.

I was thinking about getting the same headphones, some people say the quality is good, others are saying its mediocre. I haven't upgraded to A12 yet, as there do seem to be some teething problems (on A06 at the mo), but apparently there is a hack to unlock the A2DP (and I guess the AVRCP) profiles, so maybe it might offer good quality sound on that?
