Question Network Authentication

Maybe I'm retarded...but I can't find this information through a search, or figure it out.

I have a network at work, as well as one at home and I'm not using Active Directory, but the machines do have XP Pro on them and I use username/password to restrict directory access to certain users (especially at work, not so much at home).

How do I set up my x51v so that I can specify the username/passwords for the networks?

You specify a network drive or folder by logging on with the axim as
\\yourpcname\drive:

this will bring up a dialog box and at that time you specify your user name and password. This can be saved or not as you wish.

If the password has already been set, how do I reset it?

Also, can I map network drives using the IP address?

The IP address cannot be used to map a network drive. There are other posts about the difficulty of connecting to the new network only drives. Usually if an incorrect password has been saved for that drive, remove the link to the drive and reconnect.

In total commander drives that you have previously accessedd appear on the LAN page. You can remove them here, and then create a new networked connection. I'm not familiar with any other file mangers or software.
