Question phone cable connect

Im really new to this and don't understand all the techie stuff actually I understand very little of it so be gentle
I found that I can get the cables for my Motorola V60i .So does this mean that I can connect to the internet and check email????
Can I just use my regular ISP,its just a dial-up?
Do I need anything else?

Thanks,Mel

I just got a cable from Gomadic.com. I have a Motorola v60c with Verizon Wireless. I have the internet on my phone service. ($5 a month). I connected the cable up to my Axim & cellphone, set the connections the way Gomadic recommended for my carrier. It dials out & I'm connected to the internet on the Axim. It works great. The speed could be a little better but other than that..... connecting is simple & retrieving emails (created new service for this.... not using Activesync) works great.

Will I need internet service on my cell phone or can I use the cell to just dial my local dial up ISP???

I'm using Verizon Wireless. They offer a free Mobile Office phone number to use (#777) to gain free access to the Internet using a PDA or Laptop. Or, you can use your own Dial-Up ISP if you want to.

Cable connect to Cell

I have Verizon wireless as my Cell service. I added internet access onto it for $5 a month. I configured a connection on my Axim as the cable (Gomadic) manufacturer recommended. I was then able to connect to the internet through my cellphone. I could then get email, view websites, etc. as if I had dialed out on a modem. The Axim is using my cellphone as a modem.
