WiFi hotspot problem. Can't get past restuarants splash screen.
I ate out at Panera Bread the other day, and couldn't surf on their WiFi. I get a Panera Bread splash screen, but the screen asks you to agree to their terms o service. I couldn't choose the agree button in order to gain access. Maybe the splash screen is written in flash, or java. Is there a way to bypass this screen, or a way to get my x51v to choose the accept button? I also had this problem at an airport hotspot, and another coffee shop hotspot. Really annoying.
I tried connecting in both Explorer and Opera, and no go.

As DeeCree52 noted, PB is accessible using alternative PPC browsers.
(Pick one with more robust javascript ability)

I'm using both PIE and Opera, and neither work.

Since my x51v just came from Dell a couple weeks ago, I doubt if flashplayer 7 is installed on my pda. Where do I put the cab file?

that is what I did but it says there is no application associated with it. It says run the application first.

Same problem here.
Did you ever get this worked out rcab?
I'm running WM2003 on an X5 / PIE
Just rechecked - getting the error message:
"The program is not compatible with the current
operating system and, therefore, may not run on
this device. Do you want to continue installation?"
"Macromedia Flash Player ActiveX was not installed
successfully. Please run Setup again."
Was trying to install to an SD card as indicated that
this is possible. OS listed as Microsoft Pocket PC,
version 4.20.1081 (Build 13100)

Here's a weird experiment: Before clicking on the Agree button (assuming you can do that), try connecting with Pocket-AIM. Strange thing, but it seems as if AIM and other chat programs kind of "fly under the radar" and I can often chat whereas I can't get past a sign-in page.

No I haven't gotten it to work. I thought I'd wait and see if anyone had advice.

Because they don't know what they are doing. Web access is done through port 80. People who are clueless only monitor port 80. Once port 80 is trying to be accessed, it'll display that webpage "portal".
Other chat clients use different ports which aren't monitored.
On a public hotspot, you physicaly connect to the lan. That is why hotspots can be very harmful. Everyone won't be able to access your computer on port 80 (though you prolly aren't pushing out a webserver either) because of the WAP's (wireless access point) "security settings", but people can hack their way in via other open ports.
It is a nice feature if you know how to exploit it. If you know of a public proxy accessible from the internet, you can have it reroute internet to another port (say 1234). So you could connect to your proxy the same way you connect to the AIM servers, except you'd be getting internet data through your proxy. Bypass the "blocked" 80 port altogether.

It has been a little while and I thought I'd try this again.
Unfortunately, the exact same errors about installation keep popping up.
Has anyone a work-around for Flash installation on the X5 unit described?
