Zoom BT modem problem

I feel like a fool asking this, cause it's probably gonne be something simple, but I gotta.

I'd been using a Zoom BT Dial-up modem for some time, but had stopped using it regularly about a year ago due to a change of jobs. I did use it once about 6 months ago. But as of today it's not working right.

The Axim will make the BT connection to the modem, they will dial out to the ISP (who says it's connecting okay according to their logs), and then the modem will disconnect the line right about 60 seconds from when it first made contact with the modem.

I've tried changing settings, soft resets, deleting and re-pair-ing the devices, and deleting and rebuilding the DUN connections. Does anyone know of anything specific like a piece of incompatible software, a particular registry key, anything that could explain and fix this?

I can't help you but would like to add a similar problem I'm having with my Billionton BT modem ( I think it is the same unit) in which it functions perfectly well with my Axim x50 but when I use it with my laptop and an Iogear BT USB transmitter it drops the dialup connection after a short period of time.

Also of what use is the serial connector on the back of the modem?

Anyone out there with experience with the BT modems?

Thanks.

Update:
It may not be the modem, but possibly something in the BT software on the Ax. Here's why: I was overseas and was loaned a Nokia cellphone (no, I didn't catch the model) by my employer. It had BT, and it worked fine for transferring pix I took using the camera-phone. But when I tried to use it as a modem, it did the exact same thing the Zoom modem did. I even tried just using it to dial up my stateside provider (employer was paying all charges) and it dropped the connection right at 60 seconds.

Is there anyway to reset the BT DUN files? Maybe they got corrupted? Anyone?
Thanx.
