Ad-hoc Internet Connection Sharing help please !!
First, I apologize because I know that this has been addressed in other threads, but even after reading them I STILL cannot seem to get my Internet Connection Sharing to work accross wi-fi. Here's my details:
1) One pc running Win98 with dial-up internet
2) SMC EZ Connect USB Wireless Adapter
3) Linksys WCF12 CF card for my Axim
Using an ad-hoc wireless connection, I can sync and browse my pc wirelessly from the Axim (at good distances, btw).
When I install/activate Internet Connection Sharing (ICS), the network configuration on the pc shows (3) new protocols called Internet Connection Sharing. They are labeled ICS->Dial-up Adapter, ICS-> USB Adapter and ICS->Internet Connection Sharing. None have anything in the bindings page. My TCP/IP->Dial-up Adapter now shows (shared), and my TCP/IP->USB Adapter now shows (home).
Having tried just about any combination of static IP, DNS and Gateway settings that I can think of (from various threads), I have been unsuccesful at sharing the internet connection. I still can sync and browse, so to my feeble mind it is the ICS (or settings therein) that is the problem.
IF someone has a Win98 ad-hoc wireless connection (with ICS working) and can tell me specifically the settings for each adapter, protocol, etc... I would GREATLY appreciate it.
Thanks.
