Hi.

I am using Axim X51V and Nokia 6280 for Internet access. These are my manual settings, maybe they can help you?

Start with Nokia:
1: Menu/ Settings/ Connectivity/ BT/ BT= On
2: Menu/ Settings/ Connectivity/ BT/ BT Settings/ My phones visibility= Shown to all

Proceed with Axim:
3: Tap Bluetooth icon
4: Choose tab Mode: Tick boxes for "Turn on Bluetooth" and "Make this device discoverable to other devices".
5: Choose tab Devices: Tap "New Partnership" (Scanning starts) Hopefully the BT-name of your phone will appear. Tap to select, tap "Next". Enter a passkey, tap "Next".

Back to Nokia:
6: Phone will ask:
Pair with (name of Axim) select? Select. Enter the same passkey in phone, push OK. Notification of pairing succed. You can check in: Menu/ Settings/ Connectivity/ BT/ Paired devices, there you should find (Axim name).

Continue with Axim:
7: Partnership settings: Tick "Serial port" and "Dialup Networking", tap "Finish"
8: Phone name should appear in Setting/ BT. Close.
9: Start/ Settings/ Connections/ Tasks, tap "Add a new modem connection". Enter a name for the connection (phone name)
10: Select a modem = Bluetooth, tap next.
11: Tap and select (phone name), tap next.
12: Enter the number to dial (in my case *99#), tap next.
13: Enter (if applicable) User name, Password, Domain. (I only enter "Domain-name"), tap Advanced, try Baud rate as high as possible. The rest I don't use at all, all default settings works for me, (refer this to your ISP-provider) Tap finish.
14: Back in Settings/ Connections, choose tab "Advanced", tap "Select Networks".
15: In Settings/ Network Management, tap "Edit".
16: Phone name and number should be there. (Tab "Proxy setting", I only have tick for "This network connect to the Internet" ISP-provider-related?
17: Tab "Modem" tap and hold name of phone, tap connect.
18: Logon to server/ Network Log On. If applicable enter: Username, Password, Domain (tick save password?), tap OK. Dialogue will appear.

Nokia:
19: Confirm dial up

Axim: Connected!

Don't forget to close connection when you are finished!

20: Press Axim's wireless button twice, Nokia will confirm closing the connection.

To reconnect next time:
21: Repeat Step 3-4 above, start Explorer, Axim and Nokia will ask for dial up.

Or:
22: Start/ Settings/ tab Connections, tap Connections.
23: Tab Tasks, Tap "Manage existing connections", tab modem, tap and hold phone name, tap connect, refer to step #17-20 above.

I hope this will be of some help to you, so you can go really wireless/ unplugged.

Question Move thread to "Wireless Communications"?

Hi.

I wonder if this thread should be under "Wireless Communications" instead?
