Using Samsung BT Enabled Phone As Modem

Help

Trying to pair my X51V with my Bluetooth Enabled Samsung phone to use as modem. I can connect the two successfully but my X51V says only service avaliable with the phone is Serial Port. It does not list Dial Up as an option. But according to BT menu on the phone Dial Up is one of services offered by phone through BT. Anyone successfully connected a Samsung cell phone to the X51 V ???

I have an a930 with VWZ service that I have fooled around with to get BT DUN to work. You have to enable BT in two different spots to get the DUN option.

1st spot...
->Menu
-->Settings
--->Phone Settings
---->PC Connection
----->Bluetooth

2nd spot...
->Menu
-->Settings
--->Bluetooth
---->Settings
----->Discovery Mode
------>On

I hope this works for you. :approve:
Check out MyPDA under useful guides and go the the Bluetooth Guide. I has been a help to me in the past.

Some of the Samsung phones only have BT capabilities with headsets (such as the Sprint offered A900m). There may be a workaround for them but I haven't figured it out.

I just read on JKontheRun that Pocket PC Thoughts has an article about smartphones with the latest BT profile AKU3 that do not have the BT Dial Up Networking but that something may be cobbled together with BT PAN see http://jkontherun.blogs.com/jkonther...plus_blue.html for more info.

They refer to smartphones and I don't know what Samsung you have - don't despair as I might be steering you in the wrong direction.
