Wireless web with my phone

Hey, i was checking out some of those cables that allow you to connect wirelessly to the internet with your Axim. I have a LGVX10, which is supposed to be supported. My carrier is US Cellular. I'm just wondering if I get this and use it, no extra charges will be on my bill right? Just the minutes I spend online. Also is there anything extra I should know about doing this, because I assume its not as easy as just plug and play.

If US Cellular does not offer a free ISP server to connect to, then you will need to subscribe to a dial-up ISP of your own. If you already have a dial-up ISP, then you can just use that number to connect. Also, just a note that to use it for "free" (just uses your monthly minutes), the speed will only be that of a 14.4 Kbps modem.

I should mention that this is still plenty fast enough to check/send e-mail and browse any mobile websites (i.e. websites with not a lot of pictures). I used my Gomadic cable with LG VX4400 phone for the past week while out of town. I was easily able to keep up all e-mail communications. And it was decently fast to browse the mobile archived version of Aximsite forums.

I'm pretty sure US Cellualar doesn't have a free ISP. www.access4less.net has dial up for really cheap. So if I got that would it work with my setup?

Since it says on Access4Less website that "No Special Software is required," it should work just fine. The only problem that MIGHT arise would be if their servers do not support 14.4 Kbps connections. I have run into a few ISPs that no longer support anything below a 28.8 Kbps connection, although this has been very rare. For only $6/month I'd give it a try though, as it will most likely work just fine.
