Reading/playing network files?

I was successful in accessing files on my PC through the wireless link. But I was only able to see or copy files. Even though the files were displayed with associated programs (e.g. JPG with Resco Picture Viewer), however clicking on them didn't bring the viewer up for viewing. Instead, nothing happened, not like the same files stored in Axim.

What gives?

Get a program like Resco File Explorer or Total Commander or along those lines ... Then you can map the drive or folder as a networked drive and can do anything with the files as if they were on your axim ...

But why didn't it work with network files in PPC File Explorer?

On PC a drive mapped or not makes no difference.

BTW I saw you using both Lexar and Simpletech 256MB SD cards. Do you favor any one over the other?

Thanks.

I perfer the SimpleTech .. Mainly because I've never heard of problems with them ... But both work great ...

As for the PPC File Explorer not working I believe it has something to do with the way it maps networks ... Its more of just a browser rather than providing a fully networked drive like the Resco one does ...

Thanks so much!!! Makes sense to me.

BTW, just ordered SimpleTech 256MB SD from Dell. Good deal at $78 plus $15 MIR. It's also better than waiting for Lexar for another month (out of stock now). I appreciate your opinions.

So if I open a playlist that is on my computer using resco eplorer will it automatically play all of the mp3's that are in that file? This is what I want to be able to do. Play an entire playlist through my axim from my pc.
