Hello everyone. :)

My first post here so I hope it is not a stupid one...

I just recently re-acquired my x5 Advanced and a friend was nice enough to give me his TrueMobile 1180 CF card. One problem...the label on the back is work and I cannot read the MAC address. Now you may ask "why is this a problem?". Simple...I use MAC address filter tables on my router rather than WEP. So, if I don't know the MAC address of every device on my network, I cannot grant them permission to acquire an IP.

My question...

Is there somewhere in the X5 itself that will display the MAC address of my TrueMobile card? I looked all through Settings and can't find it anywhere! :(

I assume you've looked though all the driver software pages. It's probably in the registry when the card is in place but that may take some searching, too. The first thing I would check is my router settings - turn off MAC filtering and let the Axim connect. Most router software has a page that will provide the MAC of the connecting device.

BTW, MAC filtering is a pretty poor method of securing your network. It's easily hacked and much of your network traffic will be 'in the clear' so that anyone that wants can see what is being transmitted.

Sorry all...I answered my own question. I used ceIPConfig v1.0 to get the MAC address. :)
