Aximsitewifiicon wifi problem...

Hey guys... my wifi connection has gone nutty... i don't think i made any changes since it was working, but for some reason I can't connect to the internet with my axim... I can connect to my wireless router with my computer so i know that's not the issue...

when i try to connect to the internet i'm told "cannot connect with current connection settings. to change connection settings, tap settings" when I tap settings it just wants me to add a new modem connection etc, which i dont think i need to do...

on my home screen, i can see my wifi bars, and they're green, indicating that i have a signal... when i click the config tab on my WLAN Utility settings, it even shows a bar with good signal quality...

i downloaded a wireless troubleshooting program from microsoft, and it said my ping utility was bad or something... on the "tools" tab of my WLAN utility settings, it sais something about ping... i think it used to have a different numbber next to the "renew IP" button, but now it says 0.0.0.0... i click renew IP and it does nothing...

basically, i'm stuck and dont know what to do... any idea what the problem is given the info i provided? anything else i should check to get my wifi back up and running? any freeware that can help me?

thanks in advance for the help!!

It sounds like your Axim isn't associating with the router. I had this problem once when my neighbors set up a network on the same channel as mine and, even though their signal was a lot weaker, my PPC had trouble (my laptop was able to connect fine at the time - it seems PPCs have more problems with such interference).

So, I would first try changing the channel. Use 1, 6, or 11 as all other channels overlap one or more of these.

This, of course, is assuming you haven't changed any settings on the router since you were last able to connect (i.e. changing the security settings or password).
