UMTS Broadband ?

As some of you may know already, I'm stuck in a part of Germany with no access to a Broadband Connection. I have been using an ISDN dial up which costs me a fortune and is pretty slow.
While I was away in London, my wife noticed a phone shop offering
"can't get Broadband!? We can give it to you for 25euro flat rate"
She asked and they are offering a UMTS Broadband flatrate, and say it is 5 times faster than the ISDN that we are using.

I guess my question is Has anybody had any experience using UMTS?
The price is right, but it worries me that it might be a bit unstable and slow.

Any advice anyone?

We live in the woods and can't get cable or dsl, but we have ISDN. We are able to get some sort of wireless broadband, not sure if it's the same thing, but the problem is we need line of sight to the tower. And if you live in the woods, you would know, trees are tall. We'd need probably a 100ft tower in order to see that stupid thing... That's the expensive part.
