I have used BT to sync/connect for as long as I have had my x51v and the widcomm stack. I upgraded to Vista and it won't seem to work anymore. I set it up and the pc and pda talked and traded keys and connected( according to the bt manager on the PC anywy) but will not find any services on the pda bt manager and so will not work. I finally de-installed the widcomm stack and went bak to the MS one on the pda and it worked instantly. Anyone else having this issue?
The real question should be...does anything work with Vista? I also have wildcomm stack and Vista and it does work after I tweaked settings to get it to work.
I have tried everythign I could think of and cannot get this to sync with bluetooth when i have the widcomm stack on my pda. it works fine using the original stack but then my headphones don't work very well. I have gone back and forth installing and removing the widcomm stuff and it just won't do it. I never had this problem when I had xp on my pc. croger1988 you say you have it working do you remember what you had to tweak to get it to work?
I am having the same problems, before I used to sync without problems my Axim x51 and my laptop (windows vista) but I installed Widcomm to be able to dial a phone number directly from my contacts (my axim is connected to my motorla razr), but now I can sync anymore with my laptop.. please any help!

I believe this is what croger1998 is talking about:

This registry hack, to be applied to your desktop pc/laptop, enables WMDC to bind to a bluetooth virtual com port (as you set this com port as the incoming port). Go to \HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services, modify the value name "SerialPort" from "Bluetooth or Infrared" to "COM4", where COM4 is the virtual com port associated to your bluetooth incoming com port. The number varies from desktop to desktop, so choose the right com port for your specific use.
After a machine restart and re-pairing my devices, I am now able to sync over Bluetooth. Also the first time I tried syncing my device I had to have WMDC open so it would recognize I wanted it to sync to my previous ppc profile - then was fine after that on my x51v :)

Thanks! I will be back to my Vista machine tomorrow evening and will try it. Ihope... I hope... I hope. I hope it works cause my bt headphones are not nearly as good without widcomm installed

Thanks for the information. I tried it with my Vista Inspiron 6400 and it worked perfectly on the first try.
Just got it working on my Vista machine too. Thanks a lot. I ended up setting it to COM5 on mine. It re-wrote it back to Blutetooth a couple of times before I figured out that the permission for that key had to be set to Allow Full Control for my user name. works great now!
