Hi is there someway to install programs wirelessly? Not using the cable/cradle? I've tried doing this but it keeps logging into activesync as Guest and it will not install the program.

Yes, I do it all the time. Try the directions under Wireless sync on this website and see if it helps. If not, let us know and we'll do some troubleshooting with you.

is there a good place or a way to download/install software directly to my Axim while I'm accessing the internet with D-Link wi-fi CF card?

I'm not sure I understand your question completely but I'll try...

If you are in Starbucks or some other hotspot, and you download a program to your Axim, you can install it IF it is a .cab file. If it is an .exe file that is traditionally installed through activesync then I think you will need to install it through a PC.

I followed the instructions but I am still logging on as guest. My PPC says connecting on the screen yet on the desktop activesync says a guest is logged on. ?????

I forgot to mention that an error pops up saying that "The connection has failed due to missing server information or user credentials. Tap options, and then the server tab to verify that your server name is correct. Then tap advanced to verify that your user credentials are correct and try again.

My computer name is main so i set the server to that and i set the user credentials to my windows XP log on name/password that didn't work so I tried getting rid of the windows xp log on user/password and it still did not work. huh....

Is your Axim actually receiving an IP number? You can use vxUtil to check on this. I would suggest you use the router's IP as the gateway and server. It should be assigning the IP number, not your PC and there should be no reason for you to have to log in to XP for ActiveSync to work.

If that doesn't work, you can install Pockethosts which will allow you to associate your PC on the Axim with its IP number.

The guest connection sounds quite strange to me since the messages you are getting sounds like you are not connecting at all. Does your ActiveSync connection via USB show up as a normal partnership?

I have to use my PC as the server/gateway because I am sharing an DIAL UP internet connection through the BEFW11S4 Broadband Wireless Router...(it was cheaper) so I can't make the router the gateway/server. And yes ActiveSync via USB shows up as a normal partnership.

So, you are using ICS on the PC? I'm afraid I have no familarity with that protocol but using vxUtil to determine if your Axim is receiving an IP number and using PocketHost may still help.
