what kinds of choices are there for bluetooth cell phones? i would like a small one, without a big screen on it, and use the axim for internet browsing.
hey, i use the Sony Ericcson T68i with the ax, and it rocks. long as you leave the phone set to bluetooth, you can just pull out your ax and get on the net. Plus, the Sony bluetooth headset is cool as heck as well......... :) Plus, they are cheap right about now. It's small, and doesnt have a large screen, but it is color and fairly nice. I am lusting after the new z1010 coming out though..... :D
I'm just about to get a new phone which I want to use with my Axim.
I'm thinking of the SE T610 and a bluetooth adapter.
What do people think about this combination and does anybody have experience of which Bluetooth CF card is best - I'd prefer not to have one that sticks out of the top of the Axim...
I have ATTs GSM/GPRS service with the Nokia 3650 bluetooth phone .. Works great .. I get around 115K for speed .. Only problem is ATT doesn't have a great data plans ... If they went to unlimited like some other cell providers it would be perfect ... You can get the price for the data plans off ATTs site ..
For those interested in the SE 610 may want to check out the review on mobile.burn.com . Very in-depth and unfortunately very negative. I was very keen on this phone as well. Guess I'll either wait for whatever SE has coming out next or go with the 68i.
Off topic, is anyone actually interested in having cameras on their phones? Seems to be just a stupid way to jack up prices on perfectly good units.
I can actually use mine ... I do Quality Assurance work and and I'm down visiting my workcenter to check on the contractors I know I always have my phone on me so I can take pictures of things that might be a problem and I have proof when I write a discrepency letter ...
The Siemens S56 is AT&T's new Bluetooth phone. I bought it a couple of weeks ago ($179 at Fry's, before $50 rebate).
The Axim/Bluetooth/S56 combo works just fine. Hard to gauge the throughput - probably 60k. Will be faster when AT&T activates their EDGE/enhanced GPRS service in my market later this year. But the throughput isn't bad the way it is.

Just bought a Siemens S56 myself, and of course I use an Axim (X5). Did you have any issues setting up your connection through the phone to the net? What about site availability with this setup? With the phone, I can only view WAP sites it seems...
ANY INFO ABOUT THE SIEMENS S56 / AXIM COMBO GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
Thanks :)

Nokia 6310i GPRS, is probably the easiest mobile to set up in my experience.
The best Bt card is the Socket Bt CF card, it has a built in antenna, therefore it is the same size as a cf memory card, and the software rocks too. the downside is that it doesn't support audio devices, nevermind.
