hi,
i set my dialup connection to be shared and restarted, but still no go.
surely this shouldn't be this difficult, i can't imagine i'm the only only person who has done it?
any other ideas anyone?

No, that's not coming from DHCP.
What IP address is on your USB NIC? (ipconfig)

ok, so the ICS is not setup properly either. But from your PC try and ping the IP address of the NIC (was 169.254.195.23 but reverify)

SSID
Channel
WEP?
Inf/AdHoc

Check both drivers and each should have a part that says "Associated with xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx". What are the associations?

thanks for your help dude, ill come back to it later.
in 'network troubleshooting' in the axim's "dell client" it can't contact the desktop.
but windows and the axim says its connected.
its quite strange

Awesome. Even ICS?
For file sharing, ensure that you have first shared a file on the PC. Then from your PPC try to connect to \\server using the button on the right in explorer that looks like a hand underneath a folder.
This one can also be problematic but give it a shot.
Do you know what was the problem?
