Hey i know they are some international users here so i was wondering if anyone knew if thailand (bankok) use's 802.11b or if anyone know's where i can find out. I'm traveling to thailand monday and i'm trying to decide if i should get a dial up or wireless here or if i just better go over there and see if they have one a and hope it's not to expense so thank for any input !

Yep. The radio might be different, Europe and Asia actually get more channels, but that should be your only problem I think, legal issues aside...



So if there's an AP running on channel 14 you're out of luck.

In all honesty I'd resign myself to using commercial stuff, especially if I was unsure of the laws that might government any "gray line" activity in that country. The Thai's are not well know for having the most forigiving legal system.
