Warchalking Newbie ?'s

Well---I have my Axim---and thinking about picking up either the Socket Wireless LAN CF card or the D-Link card...

Any suggestions?

Lastly, anything else I need to warchalk or discover open networks around my neighborhood?

Thanks for your help!

The Socket card is clearly the best but also the most expensive. I would say the rest kind of fall into a group with various things to recommend for or against each individual brand. The only CF card with a lot of negative remarks is the Dell TrueMobile.

One point about d-link (as well as some of the other brands) - they do not work with pocketwarrior, WiNc and I think AirScanner unless you use the Intersil reference drivers. No one currently knows if these drivers will work with WinMobile03.

DON'T FORGET THE CHALK!!! Crayola Sidewalk chalk is clearly the best but also the most expensive. The rest are all basically the same. You can also make your own out of plaster of paris and tempera paint. C'mon, Crayola's only $4 for a bucket... don't be a cheapskate when it comes to your chalk, go all out. You'll thank yourself later. :)

edit: Ike, I'm not mocking you... somebody had to give a review on what chalk to use :).

edit 2: JJSOmaha, I took my D-Link DCF-660W apart today, looks like there is an antenna connector inside. Right now I am currently researching this to see if it is possible to hook up an external antenna to it. That would be mucho bueno for warwalking/chalking/driving. Can we say cantenna?
