On the Axim, did you look under Settings, System (tab), Remove Programs? I have “Intersil PRISM Wireless LAN for WinC…” listed there and this should be the program you want to remove.

Hmm. I’m at a loss. Have you already uninstalled WiNc? Just wondering if it’s hiding the Intersil drivers. There was a post in an early thread about doing a registry hack to completely remove one of the manufacturer’s drivers so they could add the Intersil. I imagine you’d need to change the same settings to go in reverse. On the other hand, if you’ve added/removed a lot of programs since the last hard reset, I find it speeds things up to get a fresh start every once in a while.

Yea I know, its like nukein your PC to clean out the stuff left over in the reg after 3-6months of hard use (rode hard and put away wet, trials and uninstall ). On the PC side i should install an application like cleansweep but it sucks up the horsepower. Guess thats the price I pay. Do they have a app like cleansweep for the Ax?

I remember seeing someone mention something along those lines but I cannot remember the ap name. You might check the downloads section above - probably under utilities, otherwise maybe at freewareppc.
Maybe someone else can point you to the program?

Is there any update to the attempts at removing the Intersil drivers?
I tried to uninstal mine and go back to the D-Link drivers but no luck.
I uninstalled the Intersil, deleted all the entries in the registry, that I could find, and soft reset. Then I put in the DLink card, it flashes once and that's all. It didn't recongnize the card at all.
I uninstalled the D-Link drivers(the latest version), reinstalled the Intersil and evrything works fine.
I guess I can always wait for the WM2003 upgrade as all will be lost anyways on the hardreset. I'd like to do a backup, but I'm just afraid that some Intersil stuff will be part of the backup and be useless to me.
Anyhow...did you figure a way to successfull get rid of the Intersil drivers?
Mike
