Oh, if you're using DHCP, then check your DHCP server (PC or router). I'd recommend using DHCP.
Also search the board for a program called PocketDHCP. This will run on your Axim and give you all the good details.
Note that if your environment is fairly static (not much change) and you think your PPC will keep the same address, you're ok. If you're always messing around with IP Addresses, see if you can specify that a few addresses are allowed through on the firewall.
Also, if you do get it working, you should be able to disable 999. I just tried it and saw no traffic using that port. So get it working, then disable it. If it breaks, re-enable it.
Alternatively you can hard code something from the 192.168 range that does not conflict temporarily.
