Question PPC2003 and 802.11a CF Card?

I have done a bit of searching with no luck. I think I may have found my problem however I just wanted to run it past everyone before I give up and head to http://www.pricewatch.com for completely new wireless set up.

While searching for a manufacture of a 802.11a CF card, I found a review / explanation about wireless cards stating that PDA's are not going to take advantage of 11a speed because of the bus architecture. Something about the bus on PDA's is only 16 and that of a laptop is 32. I admit that the article was somewhat outdated however it may be the very reason for me not being able to find the CF card.

The rest of my house is currently set up using 11a, a mistake I found AFTER the fact.

Any ideas? Anyone know where I can get, if possible, an 802.11a CF card for my Axim?

I've seen several posts by people that I believe to be very knowledgable that have stated that there are no 802.11a CF cards. There are CF to PCMCIA adapters but I have no idea if there are any 802.11a PC cards that have drivers for PPC. There is a list of cards with drivers here. You can look through and see if any of the cards listed are in the a band but I'd be surprised if they are.

Another idea I had is to add an 802.11b AP to your current network or possibly a dual band a+b router or AP.

I have thought about adding another AP in my house, looks like I better start thinking harder. :) The price is somewhat reasonable now days too. Thanks for the info.

The idea of getting an Ethernet card for a PDA seems somewhat ridiculous to me. More or less defeats the purpose.
