Worried Slightly off-topic. Help!!! Internet sharing via a router

I have just got my new wireless networking setup, a Dlink DI-624 wirelessG router, Dlink DWL-G650 wirelessG laptop card and a DCF-660W card for my Axim. I bought this setup with the intention of adding an ADSL ethernet modem when I get broadband in 6 weeks time.
However, as I don't have broadband yet I need to share the ISDN connection on my PC.

It is setup like this:

My PC with PCI ISDN card > cable to DI-624 router > wireless to laptop with G650 card and axim with 660W card

I cannot for the life of me to get internet connection sharing to work. In fact, either the internet works, OR the wireless LAN connection. On my computer, in network connections it shows my dial-up connection, then Internet gateway and LAN connection.

Is it possible to share my ISDN with the wireless network, and how do I do it?? Any attempt to set the network up using windows XP comes up with an error. Please help, the missus is going to kill me. My old adhoc system worked fine.

Both computers running WinXP Pro, axim on PPC2002. BTW my axim sees the wireless network and connects perfectly, but I can't browse the internet coz of my internet connection sharing problem.

Thanks

Can you give us more informaiton? How does the IP Landscape look? Are you using DHCP on the WAN interface on the router (the one facing the ISDN PC) or is it static? What addresses are being used? Did you enable ICS on the ISDN Modem interface or on the NIC interface?

Verify that you have full layer 3 (IP) connectivity first..

Worried

This is how I have everything set:

LAN (dlink wireless router)
General:
Connect using Intel(R) PRO/1000 CT Desktop Connection
TCP/IP set to obtain IP automatically

Dial-up (AVM NDIS WAN CAPI Driver)
Networking:
PPP: Windows 95/98/NT4/2000, Internet
TCP/IP set to optain IP automatically

Using ipconfig in DOS I get the following:

Ethernet adapter Dlink Wireless Router:

Conn-spec DNS suffix:
IP address 10.0.0.101
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 10.0.0.1

PPP adapter Freeserve Anytime

Conn-spec DNS suffix:
IP Address 81.78.85.165
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.255
Default gateway 81.78.85.165

Wireless network mode infrastruction on channel 10

That what you need, if not please s p e a k s l o w l y as I am thick. Ta.

Worried

BTW tried to enable ICS on the ISDN connection, it it appears as thought there is already an internet gateway open.
Maybe because it's a broadband router it's trying to connect my computers to my non-existant ADSL ethernet modem???

I don't know:rolling:

The IP landscape looks very nice, but I think it would be better in portrait view. Actually, as you may have guessed I have no idea.

My missus is sharpening knives in the kitchen, a little unnerving to say the least.

I believe the only way to do this is to get internet connection sharing working.

I would suggest that you go into your network connections and delete any connections you are not using, and then go into the network properties and delete any protocols you are not using and then try enabling ICS

GaryB,

Since you are sharing an ISDN connection, and running ICS to share it, you need to disable the DHCP function of the router.

In Windows XP, ICS runs a DHCP server. You can't do anything about it. Your router is also running a DHCP server, turn it off. You've got two DHCP servers trying to dish out address, and that's why one will work, or the other, but not both.

I've got a very similar network configuration. Instead of ISDN on a PCI card, I've got satellite broadband on a USB port.
