Help can ad hoc axim to computer

I have WM 2003 on my Axim, and just got an Ambicom CF today (installed the new drivers for WM2003 it work fine card it listed). I've been trying all day to make a connection to my computer.. I don't have a router or anything.. Just a DSL modem and a Dlink USB Wireless Adapter.. I know the adater words cause I have my brother computer hook up to mines sharing internet using two wireless adapters one Win98se mines and WinME.. So i'm amusing I ad-hoc both computer together.. But now I'm trying to connect my Axim.. and Nothing.. The light on the card keeps blink which I guess means not connection, (I see my computer listed on axim and other computer in my building, but I can't connect to mines) and when I try to go to a site in pocketIE (page can't be found).. I looked all over the internet, I even saw the "wireless how to" we have but it involed routers (AND PLUS I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT NETWORKING) so it was like reading english & greek.. Anyway, I want to know if anyone of you can tell me in a smiple way how to setup my Axim to adhoc with my computer to share internet with WM2003?

You need to ensure that there is radio connectivity first. All the adhoc devices should be on the same channel, same WEP settings (disable it for now) and same SSID. They should all show as being associated with the same virtual MAC (it's a 12 digit number like 00:34:f3:22:12:e3 or 0034f32212e3 or 00-34-f3... Depends how they write it).

Confirm if they are all associating. IF they are then the radio is ok, tell us how the IP Addressing is configured.

If they are not associating tell us how the wifi cards are configured on the Axim and on the PC you want to connect to.

Also when I take the card out and reinstall it.. it looks for my connection try to connect and said (Pocket PC Networking: A DHCP Server could not be contacted. Using cached lease information.) But i'm guess DHCP are for routers but i'm not using a router so I guess something is not set up for ADHOC???

Different "levels".
You can use Adhoc and dhcp, use infrastructure and static IP, adhoc and static or infr and dhcp.

Check the radio settings (mentioned in my post above).

If you're using Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) then it is probably doing DHCP. Are you using ICS?

Still can't Ad hoc between computer and axim

I still can ad hoc between my computer and Axim.. (I don't know exactly what I'm doing so you'll need to explain alittle more) I have WM 2003 and Ambicom with the new drivers.. My comupter is Internet Connection Sharing with my other computer, but I want to add the Axim in the group and I can't seem to get it to work.. I can get it to connect to my computer (when I check Wireless Ethernet on WM03) it says my computer name and says connected.. but I can't surf the web.. I have no idea how to find out the "radio connectivity " on Axim.. I'm assuming it's connected cause it says so.. the new Ambicom driver don't come with any utilities so I to do everything in WM03.. some help?

I don't have your card but like I said, you need to confirm if they are associating correctly.

You have the address for the Axim, look on your PC and it should also be associated with an address. It should be the SAME address. Check that they are both associated with the same address.

How would the PC connect to the Axim? If you can ping them you're on the right track.

Have you tried these drivers?

Yeah i tried the new drivers wm03 ones.. but nothing so i went back to the old one made for ppc02 and they seem to work alittle.. I can ping between the devices sometimes.. it seem to me like my compter is the one that doesn't want to connect.. it just doesn't connect all the time it will work for 1 min then it drops.. (but the PPC says it's still connected to my computer but i can't ping anymore) then sometimes it will pick up again and work then drop 30sec after and don't work anymore...

The green light on the Ambicom card will always blink while in Ad-Hoc mode. That was one thing that had me stumped for a while so I emailed Amibicom and they told me that it will always blink in Ad-Hoc.
