I just bought a new Sandisk 128mb + Wifi CF card for my new Axim X5 400Mhz W/Ppc 2003 . Well as it turns out Sandisk does not have drivers for Ppc 2003 yet and I was hoping someone has a third party driver that I could use or know of som modification I can do to make this work so I don't have to wait for a few months to get one.
I just called sandisk today and the operator said they couldn't even give me a time frame for when they will be releasing the drivers. Looks like i'm returning my card.
I spoke with Sandisk support and the reason for these issues is that they used a new chipset on this batch of cards (the ones with 128 mb ram) and this is not supported by their current drivers.
The general idea is that they will issue new drivers for ppc 2002 and 2003 in about 1 month.
<UPDATE>
Seems that if YOU insert the card while the PDA is connected to the a/c power (cradle or cable) then the card seems to work OK.
Will let you know about this experiment once i do this near a wi-fi point.

I'm currently on ppc 2002.
Also, looks like all you need to do is put your pda on a/c power.
And then once it is turned on, insert the sandisk card.
The card starts up (blinking - looking for access points).
But yes, if you take the pda OFF the a/c, and then turn it off and on, the card is not recognized.
So the final answer is, u can't really use it unless u have a a/c power cord hanging around.
omg you guys don't even KNOW how angry i am!!! i thought this card would be such a great thing... but i am very thankful that you guys posted the lil tip about the need for A/C power or else i'd be flipping out till the end of time!!!
here's wut i got on my advanced x5 running ppc 2002: while on A/C power (either cradle or cable) it works...if you take the A/C power away but have the unit still on, everything will still work. however, once you turn the unit off, ur gonna need to "jump start" it with A/C power again.
all i can say is....HOW GHETTO!! pretty much useless, is all i gotta say. now i have to carry a stupid cable with me while i'm in school. and needless to say, i am NOT gonna carry a stupid cable with me while i'm outdoors...since, well, "WHERE AM I GONNA FIND A/C POWER?"
i am sooooooo disappointed with sandisk! i never had a problem with any of their CF or SD cards and to have this happen is absolutely disappointing. they better have a driver SOON!!!! cuz i can't tolerate my bf and his "superior" toshiba e755 (yea rite!)..... must have faith in the ax riiiiite!!!!????? siiigh
