Question IE The page you are looking for cannot be found???

Okay... everything is working fine. I have installed the Dell wifi, I can see it light up and drivers were installed intially.

Everytime I hit IE and try to surf... nothing but that error:

IE The page you are looking for cannot be found

I looked at the FAQ's for wifi but I must be missing something.

Did you check your Connections settings? Proxy settings may need to be checked where it says, "This network connects to the Internet."

Can you connect using an IP number such as Google at http://216.239.39.99?

Now since I am using Win2K I should be using the WinXP right? So far everything is just as you stated on the HOW TO page.

Now should it be work or internet?

It works correctly for most people to have all three set to "work." Exceptions generally occur if you are using a proxy server. Did using the IP in IE work?

I had the same problem, until i installed RegKing, and applied the hack that turns PIE 3.0 into IE 6.0. Hope it works for you! Heres the link to RegKing..... http://www.doctorce.com/regking.htm

check out your router settings. Is it set as DCHP? If so, how many connections is it set to allow? Mess around in some of those settings and see if it helps at all

Is there a way to set the IP and subnet on the Axim?

slza805,

Yes, you should be able to do it under Settings, Connections (tab), Network Adapters, highlight your Dell card and select properties. Change the setting to "Use specific IP address" and enter the numbers. Since you have a d-link, I think your IP should be 192.168.0.x where x is between 2 and 254 but different from all other IPs on your network. The subnet is 255.255.255.0 and the gateway 192.168.0.1 (your router's IP). You should also enter DNS numbers if you have some for your broadband provider. (Note: all these are for PPC02. If you are on WM03, the path to these settings may be different).

I just reread your first post. For some reason, I thought you'd said you could sync and network with the wireless card but now I see that's not the case. It looks like your problem is similar to another user on this htread.

You should get PocketDHCP to see how your Axim's IPs are set (you can try this before setting static IPs if you want). The last poster's instructions may be particularly useful.

Cheers! If you are ever in San Antonio, beers on me.

Thanks to everyone who has posted some help and emailed me.

Now maybe I can see what range I can go with this since it is a TRUEMOBILE.

Holy Sh?t I cant even go downstairs and get a connection. My Dlink 614+ Wireless Router is upstairs. I have a extra pc in the garage with a wireless NIC and the connection is excellent. With this Truemobile I cant even go halfway down the stairs. WTF.

All I wanted to do was browse, do some work, out in front of my house or in the back deck of my patio.

What are my options?
