X50v connects to ISP but no further

I’ve been through the tutorial and many threads. I am at the point now where I usually connect to my ISP and a modified version of my home page (ATT.NET) appears. (ATT.NET works fine on my Dell Inspiron 6000.) When I click for my email, usually nothing happens. A google search accepts my entry but shows no response. Home takes me to this address: file://\windows\default.htm. Sometimes I get messages saying: “the page you are looking for can not be found” or “Unable to connect. You have no modem entries created and no network card present.”
My PDA says I am connected to (names it) with low or good reception. I can have my laptop on with the same settings and get good results. Thanx in advance.

Greetings Hisworks!

The higher functions (like webmail) provided by PC browsers are not necessarily available on PocketPC browsers.

If you can bring-up GOOGLE's main webpage (or better yet, CNN.COM and see the content *IS* current), then you've done as much as you can. Futher functionality that you desire needs to be built-in to the PocketPC web browsers.

If you can't access these webpages, then you may indeed have a connection related issue.

1. Sorry I did not get my Google comment correct. I was not able to log into Google.com, but while apparently connected to the ATT.NET Home Page, I typed something into the Google Search function. It took my request but did not do anything with it.
2. The information on the Home Page was in fact current. I was connected. I could not connect to anything else.
3. Today, I was at a McDonalds that had WIFI. I connected right up before I went to Internet Explorer. Once I turned that on, I kept getting the "page not found" comment and no ATT.NET Home Page.
4. Tonight I did a Hard Reset. Now I'm totally not connecting to anything but the regular network I connected to before. I don't get any pages at all.
5. I feel like a lost cause. Of course my experience with PDA's has not been too good. It took me 4 months to get Pocket Streets installed, and I may have just wiped that out. Thanx again.

X50v connects to ISP but no further

Let me share some more information that might triger a response.
1. I have received several notices that I do not have a modem connection. Well, I thought, what does that matter, I'm working with WIFI?
2. My ISP is ATT.NET, which is primarily dial-up. Could I be connecting with ATT.NET on WIFI and then it looks for some land-line connection to go any further?
3. Is there something I should do to turn off or disable, to make this work?
4. Is there any way I can connect to the internet (using "Work Network" of course), without having anything on my X50v about ATT.NET?
5. Seems like I did connect to the internet, type-in and go to my ISP, check my email, and do some surfing without ever entering into the connections aspect of WIFI.
6. Anyone have any ideas? Anything related to land-lines or modems that I have overlooked? Anything in the WLAN utility I need to enable, disable or whatever?
Thanx again - Keith

X50v connects to ISP but no further

PTL I now can get to the internet with my Axim X50v. Thanx for everyones help. I was browsing my Axim looking for the 223. IP number that I seem to be stuck on. I found a page with that number. There were two statements there. One said: Use server assigned IP. The other said: Use specific IP 223.77.0.0. Guess which one I had highlighted? Changed it to: "Use server assigned IP", turned WLAN OFF then ON and connected to CNN with PIE. Works Great. God is good and He uses great people like you to help me. Thanx - Keith
