I'am lost x51 user need urgent help

Hi everybody,

Today I bought a used x51 to my wife to see if she's gonna use it and I bought a brand new HP laptop with Vista. I could connect my hx4700 to syncronize with Vista with ne troubles but it refuses to see the X51 as a WM device and launch Windows Mobilde Device Center. I wish I could set a connection with the sync cable to surf the web with the X51 but nothing. Please help

Have you done a hard reset on the device since you bought it?

Laura, did you mean soft reset?

callmelolo, do you have the latest Mobile Device Center version? From what I've read many users had to update to get the correct drivers for their Axims. The direct link is here. If you already have the latest, take a look at this Microsoft Technet link , the Windows Vista Mobile Device Center Step by Step Guide, and see if there's anything that might help.
Also, I'm assuming that since you can connect your other device, your Axim isn't being blocked by a 3rd party firewall app?

No - in this case I meant a hard reset. If the axim was bought used, I was just making sure that it had been reset to as new condition, and wasn't hanging on to any info or sync partnerships from previous owners.

Got it. I had assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that callmelolo would have done that after first receiving the device, sort of like washing your hands.:)
