Big Smile Linksys WCF12?

I just bought a linksys WCF12 compactflash card for my axim pocket pc 2003 advanced. I read somewhere that it won't work with 2003 unless you get some 3rd party drivers. Could someone list the steps in order for me to get wifi on my axim. Thanks. oh yeah, i also read somewhere that every time you soft reset the axim it adds some extra files that could slow down the axim. Is there a program out there that could find and delete them. Thanks. ya guys are awesome.

Do a search on SENOA.

There are also WCF12 beta drivers. A search is your friend here too.

With regards to files getting left they'll be in the \Windows\Temp folder.

Try intersil drivers as well. Senoa did a bad install on mine (shortcut pointing to a bad exe file and doesn't do a clean uninstall).

COPY and paste the link. DON'T click on it.

I picked up the WCF12 this week and have had success with both the Senoa drivers and the Linksys beta drivers. I had install problems with the Senoa drivers as well. The first install didn't seem to ever finish. Installed again and it worked but I had two 802.11b devices in my network adaptors list. The uninstall was more painful. Had to delete the dll's and registry entries by hand. The Linksys beta drivers installed fine but I got no indication that installation was successful. I had to poke around to make sure everything was in place. The performance seems to be the same with both. I picked up 4 wifi networks in my cul-de-sac, 2 of which I got solid connections.

A suggestion if you want to try the different drivers - do a backup of your Axim right before installing the first driver. Then you can restore to that point before trying the next. Much easier sometimes than trying to remove them. This is also useful whenever you are installing a new program especially if there's a possibility that it will cause a conflict with something else or you are not sure you want to keep it (trial programs, for example).
