Question belkin bluetooth, and dell truemobile drivers for 2003, same??

i have a belkin bluetooth adapter that i got from dell, and want to upgrade to 2003. i thought i had heard for some reason that belkin and dell truemobile were the same, and that there were 2003 drivers for the dell truemobile out. but none from belkin. are they the same or what?

I believe that everything that I have read, they are in fact the same hardware. But I don't know of anyone who has tried the Dell drivers with the Belkin card.

You may want to check this thread out... http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=aximwireless&message.id=1311

There are quite a few posts in that thread, so it might take a bit of time to go through them all.

once again, dell technical support is CLUELESS on this question. i am so sick and tired of dells awful customer service. but from what i've also read, they are the same, and should work. but man dell, if you have "award winning" customer support, whos handing out the awards? enron?

I just got off the phone with Belkin tech support. The rep told me that Belkin will be releasing a WM2003 compatible card (note: new hardware) in the next 4-6 weeks.

Evidently the current F8T020 Belkin bluetooth card isn't fully hardware compatible with WM2003.

Don't shoot the messenger :p

I also used their email support tool before I called, and got a reply with the same answer. The Belkin F8T020 will be replaced by new hardware that will be WM2003 compatible.

If Dell Sold you a TrueMobile 300 bluetooth card, it's evidently different enough hardware that they released a WM2003 driver for it. If they sold you the Belkin F8T020, I'd ask for your money back - or have them replace it will the TrueMobile 300.

I am currently using the belkin pda card (cf II) card with the dell truemobile drivers \ bluetooth manager for mobile 2003 - so far (Ihave currently have been using for a day without ill effect - drivers recognise card as soon as inserted - connects to my nokia 3610i no problem - I do not have any of the side-effect previously encountered with bluetake card and outdated drivers (poor installation and only switching on with soft reset)I have not had chance to connect to desktop enabled machine to try activesyc via bluetooth - will report back

I too have used this Belkin BT CF Card with the Truemobile drivers with some success. I have been sorting out WiFi driver issues and recently did a hard reset to clear out old drivers. I will need to reload and verify. As I recall it seemed a little buggy. I also think I didn't quite get my Email acct. info input correctly though.

Which Truemobile drivers are you using? When I try to install, my Belkin card seems to work fine, but I don't have a BT Manager on my pda...

You are correct about the bluetooth manager - contributors to the dell forum have suggested that the bluetooth manager is not totally compat and are waiting new driver - effectively the driver seems to be capable of basic needs i.e. connection with mobile but as diffulty through lack of manager to connect with additional ports such as laptop\desktop etc
