Big Smile Netgear MA701 PPC2003 Driver !!!

OK, I had to do some real digging but I was able to find the latest Intersil driver that will handle the MA701 under PPC2003. Here it is:

http://www.asus.com.tw/support/downl...delName=WL-110

Just run the setup application and sync your Axim. The new Intersil Prism driver wil be installed.

When you insert your CF card the dialog will come up saying the card is not recognized and offer you a fillin to select a driver name. Just enter 'PRISMNDS'. The card will then link with your AP. Mine works just fine. Of course there's no nice app with the tabs that have the nice functions that you had under PPC2002 but it will do until Netgear releases their own, hopefully real soon. If you need to set up WEP just go into the connections area and go to the wireless icon.

by any chance, does the wireless radio off and on feature work (not greyed out)

If you wouldnt mind checking for me (anyone who has these drivers), its in the power settings for the axim, in the Wireless tab.
Which is the same place you check your battery life, change CPU speed, and so on.

thanks very much, because there may be a chance it works with the d-link card, and if the wireless toggle works, I am a sucker for these drivers since the d-link ones have NO powersaving features.

Thanks for the info, I hope the official WM2003 drivers start rolling out soon (and apparently, for most manufacturers, this should be under two weeks from now) then powersaving should no longer be an issue.

Does Intersil work ok?

Somebody in another thread said that he had to re-install the Intersil drivers every time he turned his Axim off. Is that true? I don't want to upgrade to WM2003 until I'm sure I can make my Netgear MA-701 card work.

If the Intersil drivers do a good job, I'll use them. If they don't work, I'll wait until Netgear gets its act together.

The problem with them is that they don't work in powersaving mode. Wait for the WM 2003 driver and you'll thank yourself.
