Can surf with my WIFI card - no activesync
I have the Dell Truebile CF 811B card, and I installed as instructed. I can suff the net on my Axim (PocketPC 2003 A05 Rom), and I can access my desktop's with the terminal services client, but I can not activesync thru the wireless network.
I have followed the directions in the link pinned above as best I could, as there are some differences between Pocket PC 2002 and 2003.
Anyway, when I try to sync I get " The connection failed due to missing server information or credentials"
If I set a username and password in the logon options, (I assume the same I use to logon to my XP machine) then itsays that I have to setup a VPN????
Any help would be appreciated..

You must first sync using serial, infrared or usb to establish a connection. Once established wireless activesync works slick.

I followed the directions. I sync via USB just fine, and can surf the web too. I am posting this message thru the wireless connection from my beddroom, still can't sync unless I use the craddle.

First off do not try to sync wirelessly when it is in the cradle.
Under Options-> PC make sure that the PC you want to sync with is selected under "When syncing remotely with a PC" "Use this PC:"
Under Options->Server do not input a server nor logon credentials
It works fine "Out of the box". No configuration is needed once you have made a cradled connection and have wireless access. Just be sure that you are on the same side of the firewall.
Are you using XP Pro or Home? It works on mine on XP Home edition. I would look at the PC side rather than the Axim configuration if it is a credential issue.

Have you disabled any firewall on the PC (including the one supplied with XP)?

Firewall is disabled. I depend on my router firewall. Anyway the XP machine and the wireless adapter/base are on the inside (private side) of the router.
The strangest thing is that I can surf but can't sync.

The answer is: Start -> Settings -> Connections Tab -> Wireless -> Network Adapters -> Select "Work" and select your network adapter then OK. This selects Active Sync. To Use the internet or e-mail use the same path and select "The Internet".
Cheers!

I'm also having problems with the Dell TrueMobile card. Typically, my computer is wireless to a hub/router. I have even tried using a wired ethernet connection to see if that works. I can't get through to the computer, and sometimes the ax seems to freeze up all together. Would certainly appreciate some help. I'm sure I messed it up trying to configure it "trial-and-error" style!
