I have tried Pockethosts but i had the same problem so i Uninstalled it.
I am using the DHCP from the Router, if i use my laptop i can find and map drives to the main PC and vice versa, but from the Axim is no way. If i ping from the axim i get comms to both pc's in the network.
You can try setting a static IP and see if that works. Since you have a NetGear, I assume you'll want an IP number something like 192.168.0.x The last set of numbers can be anything between 2 and 255 but have to be different from your Router and PC's IPs (probably 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2). Set the subnet as 255.255.255.0 and the Gateway to the Router's IP (again, probably 192.168.0.1). You can also enter DNS numbers if your ISP has given you some.
At least doing this should rule out any DHCP issues.

Thanks for all the posts and help, i have still not been able to map any drives or folders at all from the Axim. Resco keeps displaying the same message there is a problem with the network connection and no computers in the network.
I have now decided to start from the beginning and Hard -reset the Axim and re-install the basics to try and get a connection as i have installed and uninstalled so many programs that have not helped at all, there might still be files left on which are actually causing the problem.
I will try this over the weekend and keep you posted on the results.
Here are a couple of links to some tools that will help (If you do not already have them):
-------------------------------------------------------
PocketHost - (You shouldn't need this for a LAN but great util)
I am still having problems trying to share a file on my home pc and access it via the Axim
I have taken off all the other programs and have just installed the basics with a copy of PocketLan.
As mentioned before i am using a netgear router MR814V2 with the netgear MA701 wireless CF card on the Axim and wm2003.
I can ping my home pc from the Axim and vice versa, I can also browse the Internet and send and receive e-mail from my home pc and the Axim via the wireless setup.
Using pocketLan I can do a scan and I am able to see my home pc but as soon as i try and connect it displays the error message that the network path was not found.
I am not sure were the problem lies and I have reached the end of the line, so if someone could offer a bit of help it would be greatly appreciated.
I did read somewere in the threads about opening the ports on the router is this true and if so what needs to be done...
macjbraun is likely right. Disable any firewalls you have on your PC including the one built in on WinXP.

Yes I am running XP Pro, But there are no firewalls that are active.
I disabled them to try and set this up first.
If I connect my laptop via the router I am able to see the shared folders on my home PC and vice versa.
If I do a scan from the Axim i can see both my home pc and the laptop but the same error occurs as mention above when I try and connect to either of them.
I am stumped.....
Netbios was set to default setting which is from the DHCP router, should it be set to netbios over tcpip????
Thanks
Your router won't be enabling it and I don't use XP, so I'm not sure what the "real" state would be in the absence of instruction from DHCP, but yes, try to enable it.
