Hmm Network config on PPC2003

I have Linksys WCP12 and Linksys BEFW1154. I have the CF card connecting to the access point but I can not access the network. I manually put in the IP addresses (correctly) but I can not connect to or ping andy devices.

is wep enabled on the access point?

if wep is enabled, you will get one way traffic (to the access point only) which is a dhcp request from the client (your ax) that doesn't get returned by the access point because the wep encryption key is not enabled on your machine. the wireless signal is there basically, but you don't have the key to open the door to the return gate. your computer doesn't have a way to decrypt the data being sent to it by the access point and vice versa.

so anyway, check for wep encryption. if it's turned on, use the key and enter it into your wireless config. if your router/ap is an acting dhcp server, it will give you an ip and you will be surfing.

it's the key. the key!

if that isn't it, let me know and we'll see what can be done.

Wep is enabled on both ends, keys are identical. I have used both fixed and DHCP for IP setup. I can ping 127.0.0.1 and its assigned IP but not any other device on the network including the access point.

I have solved the problems. I had configured more then one network adapter with IP address, I removed the fix IP from them except for the Linksys. All is well now.
