My next card will be from Socket, everything I've read on the site seems to indicate it is the top performer.

The Socket has a $40 rebate thru the end of the year. Search for the best price, pricegrabber.com is a decent site. You'll need the original UPC code so be careful with refurbs/repackaged deals.

I have the LinkSys WCF12 and ppc 2002. No Problems here. But I have read about many problems with this card and 2003. I wouldn't recommend the WCF12 for multi-platform usage. If you want one card for all, spend the few extra bucks and get the Socket card.

Let me join the chorus for socket. It's a great card, and you may well save yourself a lot of hassle and frustration by getting it now rather than wishing you'd gotten it later.

Now after returning it to compusa, I find myself in need of a wireless card that will work on both Pocket PC 2003 and Windows CE 2.11. I have the truemobile card to use with the axim for now, but would like a card I can use on both. The netgear MA701 is one I'm considering, along with the Linksys WCF11 (the WCF12 will not work with Windows CE 2.11). I'm just wondering if anyone else is using those cards and what they think of them, or if someone has another card to suggest.

The Ambicom will work just fine on WM2003. You just don't have the right drivers. I believe there is a .net install that you can get from their web site. If you can't find anything just let me know. I have the installation files on my home system. If anyone is on a tight budget don't shy away from the Ambicom - it's a pretty good card overall.

The funny thing is, I still have my Ambicom card. I agree that it is a very good card. The Socket card went in a trade and the Ambicom is now used for guests that want to surf with their laptops but do not have a WiFi card . This happens quite a lot around my apartment. ;)
Indeed, the two cards I generally recommend are Socket and Ambicom cards. :D

I have to agree. I just dumped a Sandisk combo card that didn't for an Ambicom card. The Ambicom works flawlessly on my X5 running WM2003.

downloaded the drivers for Windows CE 2.11 and Pocket PC 2003 online, about 5, did hard resets about 3 times and countless soft resets, still the ambicom would not work. Using the same settings, I had no problems at all getting online with my truemobile on my axim, I dunno maybe I had a faulty card...

The rebate form is generic and can be used with any retailer...might wanna check with socket to be 100% though. From what the rebate form says there is no restriction put on what retailer you choose to purchase the card from.
