active sync will not connect wirelessly
I have been through all the forums on this issue and still cannot get my x5 to connect. All that happens when i hit sync is it says connecting and then says not connected. i can surf and send email and view files from the desktop no problem.

Try this...Open Active Sync on your desktop PC, go to File > Connection Settings, and click the box that says, “Allow Network (Ethernet) and Remote Active Services (RAS) server connection with this desktop computer.” Below the check box it should say, “Status: network is available
On your X5, open ActiveSync and go to Tools > Options > PC. Make sure the box that says, “Include PC when synchronizing remotely and connect to:” is checked and that your desktop computer’s name is selected in the drop-down menu.

I just upgraded to WM2003 today and also had the TM1180 card. Couldn't get it to sync wireless to save my life. It worked fine before the upgrade.
The thing that fixed it was found in the link above:
On your Axim, open ActiveSync, Tools, Options. Be sure the name of your PC appears in the window..........
You MUST CHECK "Sync with this PC during manual sync".
Checking that box did the trick --- thanks for the help! :D

problem solved. i used pocket hosts. made sure my host name was exactly that of the computer. typed in ip number and it connected in an instant. much faster than using the cradle. thank for all the valuable info on this site.

Yup, that's what did it for me, too. You had said you tried the tips listed in http://www.thedigitalfoundry.com/x5howto/ so I didn't mention the pocket hosts. Glad you got it solved. Syncing wirelessly is sure a lot faster than via USB, I notice.
